Humans

Immortal Child features a large cast of humans including Alpha Team Explores, Diplomats from the Department of Diplomatic Relations, and other League governemt and court officials.

The Alpha Team Explorers include many familiar characters introduced in the first two books, some in new roles, as well as some new faces who play important roles in this story.

The Department of Diplomatic Relations is first mentioned near the end of Star Children, but no members of the DDR are introduced to the reader. In Immortal Child the head of the DDR, as well as some of his subordianates, play a significant role in the story.

There are also several League government and court officials, including the President of the League and the Chairman of the League Board of Justice.

Alpha Team Explorers

Admiral Clements - Commanding Officer of the Exploratory Forces

Admiral Clements was first introduced in Crystal Pyramid as the Commanding Officer of the Exploratory Force, and Jake Tarkman's boss. He plays a small role in Immortal Child when he convinces Jake to accept a promotion to Fleet Admiral.

Jake Tarckman - Fleet Admiral of the Exploratory Force

Jake was the Captain of Alpha Explorer Team Fourteen, in the first two books, a position he held since the team was created. Now eighty-seven years old, he has accepeted a promotion to Fleet Admiral. Jake played a major role in the first two books. In Immortal Child he is somewhat less visible, but remains very important to the story.

Captain Alexia Freeman - Captain of the Pegasus

With Jake's long term personal relationship with Alexia, Captain of Team Eleven, as detailed in the above referenced biography, she is the natural coice to become Captain of Jake's flagship, the Pegasus. Alexia was first introduced in Crystal Pyramid, where she played a significant role. She didn't appear in Star Children, and plays only a minor role in Immortal Child.

Cheri Logan – Captain

Cheri is the former Science Officer of Team Fourteen who bacame the captain of the Team Thirty-One in Star Children. She is a no-nonsense, by-the-book, tough officer who demands perfection from her ship and her crew and delivers the same. She is a natural born leader and a disiplined officer.

Early in Immortal Child Jake transfers her to become the new captain of Team Fourteen.

Grant - Commander, Team Fourteen Exec Officer and Chief Eng.

Grant rejoins Team Fourteen with Cheri. He and Chrri have maintained their romantic relationship that begand in Star Children.

Grant's brilliance comes into play as he is called on to develop new technology to meet the demands of the Emperor. He plays a major role in Immortal Child.

Amanda Grame – Commander, Archeologist

Amanda is the lead character of the Galaxy Keeper Trilogy. She is the most important character in Immortal Child, and to say much more here would give away too much of the story.

TJ - Commander – Medical Officer

TJ is Team Fourteen's streetwise, card playing doctor. He is tough as nails and bold as brass. He proves however to be very gentle and sentimental when it comes to his relationship with Amanda. He never expected to fall in love. Before he met Amanda he planned to spend his life as an Alpha Team explorer, and hanging out at backstreet bars playing poker whenever they were in port. He enjoyed the risks that came with both exploring the unknown and playing cards with the unscrupulous characters that hung out in the worst dives in port.

TJ plays a key role in Immortal Child. At the beginning of the story he is Team Fourteen's captain, forced into that role when Jake accepted the position of Fleet Admiral. Altough he has kept the team functioning, he is very unhappy in the position of command, and has talked Amanda, his wife, into resigning her position and retiring to start a family. As the story begins, this is the first crisis that Jake has to deal with.

Jonathan Sparks (Sparky)- Commander - Com Officer

In Star Children, Sparky joined Team Fourteen replacing Jeremy Hantron as Communications Officer when Jeremy followed Cheri Logan to Team Thirty-One.

Sparky plays a significant role in Immortal Child.

Elizabeth (Liz) Jordan – Lieutenant Commander - Science Officer

Liz joined Team Fourteen replacing Cheri Logan as Science Officer when she accepted the promotion to Captain and took command of Team Thirty-One.

Liz plays a major role in Immortal Child.

Jessica Slayton - Lt Commander on Vincent

Jessica is a minor supporting character in Star Children.

Jeremy Hantron - Lt on Vincent

Jeremy is a minor supporting character in Star Children.

Diplomats

Alex Perry Commisioner of the DDR

Alex Perry is the Commissioner of the Department of Diplomatic Relations. He has long believed that he should be running the government, and that if he was, he woudl rule all of the species of teh Children of the Gods as a dictator. He has nothing but distain for the elected President of the League or the Alpha Teams. At one point he attempted to have the Alpha Teams transferred to his control so that he could use them to force his will on the Galactic Alliance.

Alex believes he has struck on the ultimate plan to seize power. He will send a delagation of diplomats to Beltaria to establish a relationship with the Emperor that he alone controls, and then use that to force President Carson to serve as his puppet as he takes over first the League and then the Alliance. He has vastly underestimated the power, the inteliigence, and the determination of the Galaxy Keeper.

Joan Perry

Joan Perry is Alex Perry's wife. She plays a very minor role in the story.

Jean Russo

The most senior diplomat in the DDR, selected by Alex Perry to lead the delagation to Beltaria.

Randy Fowler

Randy is the most jonior member of the delegation sent to Beltaria by Alex Perry. He is singled out by Jar'sin and returned to League space with a message from the Emperor for Team Fourteen. Upon his return he is interrogated and imprisoned by the DDR so his message is never delivered.

Tom Read

Tom Reid is a Senior Staff member at the DDR who is left in charge in Alex Perry's absence. He makes the mistake of treating Team Fourteen hostlily when they attempt to investigate the crisis situation created by the DDR.

League Government Officials

James (Jim) Carson - League President

Jim Carson is the elected President of the Galactic League. When faced with the seemingly unsolvable crisis created to the DDR, he turns to Team Fourteen, and Amanda in particular to help resolve the issues and restore peace with the Emperor.

Neal - Assistant to the President

Neal is an assistant to the President who provides Team Fourteen with the intelligence information that they need, and serves as a first point of contact for them with the President.

Ben Barstow - Chairman of the Board of Justice

The Board of Justice is the most senior court in the League. There is no appeal from their decisions. They will hear the case against Alex Perry.

Emmanuelle Jamison - Legal Defender

Emmanuelle Jamison will represent Alex Perry before the Board of Justice
